Due to the expansion and growth of consumer, online purchase, and usage data e-commerce companies are facing challenges in managing such a high-volume, high-velocity, and high-variety information sets also known as unstructured or “big data” that are too large and complex to be processed by conventional database management tools. Because of this, big data analytics is becoming more popular in the e-commerce industry (BDA). Big data analytics is a means to get the most value out of these large volumes of data, thereby opening up new market prospects and increasing customer retention rates. A paradigm shift has occurred in the e-commerce sector as a result of the enormous expansion of big data. Data for the study were collected through the literature review of recent articles and online publications and various e-commerce websites were also used. The study indicated that e-commerce marketing professionals can adapt marketing efforts to the demands of each consumer by keeping track of user information like browsing requests and preferences. The study also showed that e-commerce companies are using BDA to improve customers’ experiences by offering them personalized goods and services. However, it is also suggested in this study about privacy and security issues posed by big data, 2necessitating the adoption of appropriate safeguard measures by e-commerce companies to prevent the misuse and improper handling of their users’ data.

Sophisticated tools and techniques are used to analyze big data, allowing businesses to better understand, and in some cases, anticipate the needs of their customers. In this chapter, the authors reviewed the role of bigdata for personalization of products and services. Big data analytics is useful not only for personalizing products and services in e-commerce but also in brick-and-mortar stores. 38Businesses study which products are trending online so that the same products can be promoted in physical stores as well. In this post-truth era, the antidote will be to direct customers toward official channels, broadcasts, and social media platforms of the company from time 88to time. An extra effort will be required to make customers aware about the reliable sources of communication based on facts. Big data and artificially intelligent solutions can play a decisive role in countering and dealing with the excessive flow of misinformation as well as disinformation.
Chapter Chapter 7Big Data as a Tool for Digital Marketers
Pages: 12
Customers are increasingly performing their activities through digital channels as a result of technical improvements, which also enable marketers to collect enormous amounts of data about consumers, store it, and use it as they see fit. Despite the significance of big data analytics for company marketing, there is little research on this topic. Another is creating future plans that take into account their requirements. In light of this, several tools and techniques have been developed to facilitate the process. These methods include observation, data collection, and analysis, among others. However, the more data you have, the more difficult it will be to manage, and eventually it will exceed human capabilities. This is why we adore big data. Big data enables organizations to comprehend the unmet needs and expectations of customers and achieve long-term commercial success. It is the solution to all of these problems. Truely, this technology is still undergoing development and refinement, but Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in its realization. They have a reciprocal interaction with one another. AI is required to give meaning to big data’s information, while big data is required to increase AI’s intelligence. Given the four properties of big data—volume, velocity, variety, and veracity—that can lead to more precise data analysis, the use of big data in digital marketing can have a significant influence.
